Chris has studied musical composition and theory at Miramar College and Mesa College. He was also a teacher's assistant tutoring music theory at Miramar College. Chris has coached music in the Carlsbad School District in California.
He actively teaches composition and songwriting at the music school he started with his wife, Tilghman's Academy of Music.
Tilghman has consulted on albums and songs for artists in a variety of genres including classical, contemporary, worship, jazz, pop, and folk. He has also written scores for band and orchestra.
His ability to play piano, guitar, brass instruments, drums, and various other string instruments equips him to incorporating a variety of sounds in his compositions.
