Kaitlyn started teaching music back in 2012 and opened Tilghman's Academy of Music in 2018 because of her passion for sharing music with her students. She has taught band, orchestra, and general music classes in public elementary and middle schools.
Kaitlyn began learning clarinet in her elementary school and doubled on flute and clarinet in middle school. She was first chair and section leader for the clarinet section at her high school. She continued to learn saxophone in her college jazz band.
Kaitlyn has performed in orchestras, musical theatre, jazz band, as well as various contemporary styles. She has also conducted various bands and orchestras in her Southern California.
